DTI Committees
Drama Therapy India (DTI) operates through dedicated committees designed to advance the field and its practices. These committees are guided by the Office Bearers, comprising the President, Vice-President, and Secretary, who ensure smooth collaboration and alignment with the organisation’s mission.
Each committee elects a ‘Team Lead’ from its members to take charge of coordinating initiatives and ensuring progress toward shared objectives. Together, these Team Leads make up DTI’s Executive Board, fostering communication and collective decision-making across committees.
Our committees are powered by a network of passionate DTI members who volunteer their time and expertise to support this vital work. Their efforts are driven by a shared vision to nurture Drama Therapy India, undertaken entirely on a voluntary basis without any financial or material rewards.
All committees of Drama Therapy India (DTI) overlap with one another in developing and upholding a scope and standards of practice for drama-therapy in India.
Training, Education & Supervision Committee
This committee defines and develops India-specific standards for drama-therapy education, scope and standards of training, practice, and supervision. It maps global training programs, curates supervisor lists, and promotes learning opportunities through events, workshops, and conferences.
Membership & Website Committee
This committee develops DTI’s membership structure, manages the member database, oversees onboarding materials, and ensures smooth communication between members and other committees. It also maintains and updates the DTI website — including payment systems, content uploads, research archives, and event information — while serving as the primary liaison for member engagement and digital accessibility.
Research & Funding Committee
The committee identifies relevant studies, curates an accessible evidence base, and keeps the website updated with new publications. It also tracks grant and funding opportunities and mobilizes support for community and academic research initiatives in India and abroad.
Ethics Committee
This committee upholds professional standards by developing, reviewing, and updating ethical guidelines for drama-therapy practice in India. It supports members through consultation, transparency, and accountability processes to ensure safe, ethical, and culturally responsive care.
Communications & Advocacy Committee
This committee leads all external communication by managing newsletters, government and organizational outreach, and public-facing campaigns such as DT Week. It builds visibility for DTI through advocacy, sponsorship and social media engagement, and representation at national and international meetings.
Admin & HR Committee
This committee oversees DTI’s financial systems by creating annual calendars, managing bank operations, and liaising with auditors. It also maintains organizational infrastructure through HR policy implementation, contact list management, and coordinating annual meetings to ensure DTI is in compliance with its registration.
